Marketing Strategy of the Year Award

While many marketers have quietened down, others have used the global downturn as an opportunity to speak up and make themselves heard. By creating marketing that works harder and smarter on a smaller budget, these brands have firmly entrenched their place as leaders when the market turns. The keys to success are in-depth customer knowledge and creative solutions that tap into customers needs. This award recognises a specific Middle East marketing campaign that has achieved high levels of commercial success for the product, service or company via unique strategic and financial thinking. Also considered is the brands value positioning, now and in the future.

To qualify for this award, the campaign must have run during the period beginning 1st April 2008 to the 31st August 2009.

The Judges decision will be based on:

  1. Evidence of customer awareness and insight
  2. Clear and differentiated brand values and sustaining the brand promise
  3. Effective use of available marketing resources
  4. Design and conceptual merit
  5. Measurable and verifiable business results
  6. The overall effect of the campaigns on current and future market share
